I was born in Oklahoma City, and grew up on the mean streets of OKC (the original "O.C." !!) Okay, so the streets weren't so "mean", but in my town you had to be ready for a drag race or a pick up game of tackle football at a moments notice. Which meant you need a car with tons of horsepower and keep a football in the trunk at all times! Football down there is like a cult of some kind.. Kinda like "Friday Night Lights". There were NO time limits on the football games we'd play in the neighborhood and the ONLY excuse that was acceptable for not continuing the game was darkness.
My first car was an old Camaro that my father & I rebuilt the engine (better & stronger than stock) thus fulfilling the criteria for being ready for a drag race at the drop of a hat. Any wrong gesture or eye contact for too long at a car with more primer on it than "paint" at a stop light, and you were committed to an all-out quarter mile THROW DOWN! As a result of my upbringing, I am a car FREAK! But I hate NASCAR. For me, NASCAR stands for Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks. LOL. Sorry race fans. It puts me to sleep. Same with Golf, I LOVE to play, but I can't watch it without dosing off.
Ana LOVES to bag on my "red-neckish" background every chance she gets. So before you ask; YES, some of my family keeps "parts cars" on their property. NO, we have never lived in a home with "new wheels", nor have we ever miss-spelled anything in Xmas lights. YES, I grew up goin' huntin', fishin', etc. However I DID go to College.
OU fans are freaks!! I'm a Broncos fan!! I love Denver & have been a fan of the Broncos since before we won those Superbowls. Hey Shanahan, isn't it about time for another "win"? ok, 'nuff said.
My taste in music is all over the place. If I had to say just one type of music that I love, I'd have to say "Reggae". I can listen to it 24/7 besides my love for that, I listen to lots of the stuff that we play as well as some pretty hard Rock. As long as it has a melodic arrangements, I'm down.
I'm blessed with 2 awesome kids (a boy AND a girl) who I take great pleasure in "correctly corrupting". My daughter already can't stand the Raiders or Chiefs.. she says "they poop in their pants." LOL! And just to get back at Ana, I have her trained to believe that the Patriots are "crybabies."
I love bringing as much fun & comedy to the show as possible. I like to be "a real person" on the air. What you hear us do on air is pretty much who we are off air as well. Being a married morning show, we take great pleasure in making fun of each other as well as pointing out the comedy of real life all around us.
